Something a bit different than the normal global business podcast

news Whew…I think I need a break from all the news that is happening these days!

1.  Spring is just around the corner but it is supposed to snow on Friday, I have to love Michigan’s weather.  ;-)

2.  I could use a bit less coverage of the Detroit Mayor’s Text Scandal and especially his latest speech and his divisive remarks instead of admitting his error in judgements and working “for” the city.

3.  Bear Sterns bailout and the possible effects associated with this around the world.

I do have to say that Barack Obama’s speech both inspired me and gave me perspective on the issues facing this presidential election.  I think this election is very important and being informed is critical.

In honor of the message in his speech, I am asking you to spend the next 30 minutes or so listening to this in its entirety instead of my normal podcast.  I think it is important to highlight this speech.  I feel that the media only provides sound bites and pieces but the power of the entire speech only can be felt if you read or listen to it.  I would strongly suggest listening to it - Obama’s tone and delivery are impeccable.  He made me very proud.  Whether or not you support him as a candidate for President, his candidness about race in this country today is a welcome bit of fresh air in “really” talking about the issues head on instead of taking the safe politically correct route.
