Great website for those who go Global

banner More and more people are moving abroad for jobs today than ever.  This mobility of folks around the world has its own very unique challenges.  Expatriates leave their homes, families, culture and language for an opportunity to learn/use English and to gain further skills for their careers.

Moving to a city/country that you don’t know can be daunting.  Building a new community for Expatriates can be even more difficult.  Where to go for the most basic items as well as the best places to eat are important things to know.  A site in Beta Testing called InterNations can provide the brave people who move abroad a community that understands these challenges as well as a guide to help get around.  A few of the things the site can help with are:

  1. Exchange on expat specific topics
  2. Discuss internationally and locally
  3. Get answers from people sharing the same life situation abroad

InterNations also has a blog that you can read up on these issues via a rss feed.  Very interesting stuff.  I am a member and trying to become an Ambassador for Detroit.  Check it out and let me know what you think.
