Baroness Caroline Cox Speech on International Humanitarian Aid

aboutuspic1 Today I was very fortunate to have attended a speech given by Baroness Caroline Cox, where she discussed “A light in the darkness:  the privilege of making a difference.”

She talked about her international humanitarian work with countries in dire conditions, conflict zones and experiencing ethnic cleansing such as Africa (Sudan, Nigeria, Uganda and Burma), North Korea, Russia, Indonesia, and more.

Her life has been in danger many times from bomb explosions, being shot at, and suffering malaria, flu and other illnesses all to give a voice to the voiceless.  She has purchased slaves to set them free.

I was humbled by her commitment and passion to the people who are suffering, losing their homes, in need for someone to help them.  Her compassion and dedication are evident in her stories.

One of her quotes is one person may not be able to do much but doing nothing  is not an option.
