Local Businesses Going Global

goingGlobal_Keyboard A global business doesn’t have to be a "big" business.  Many companies who are taking the plunge are businesses with less than 500 employees.

In a recent article I read, it talked about how many local businesses in Arizona are "thinking" global.

This article presented three different businesses perspectives on taking their businesses global.  There were a few elements of going global that were highlighted.

Reasons for going global:

1.  Talent

2.  Innovative products

3.  Overseas growth

International risks:

1.  Strong foreign currencies

2.  Cultural differences

3.  Supply chain

4.  Economic instability

5.  Legal systems

Once you have mastered your own local market or see growth outside of your market than you need to keep these things in mind.

Nice post. I think businesses can even start out global, perhaps bypassing local and regional markets and/or working with overseas service providers right out of the gate.
