About

Beverly CornellI am lucky to be a citizen in a very diverse world.

I have lived in both Spain and Brazil and have been fortunate enough to have collegues, friends, and professional associates from all over the world. My love of travel has taken me throughout Europe and South America with hopes of exploring further continents in the near future. Through these experiences and relationships I have been afforded perspectives on business and the world that many Americans have not. My hope is to provide a forum to express ideas regarding international news, thoughts on current global issues, and experiences from my day to day business interactions with friends and associates who have their trials and tribulations and successes in the global arena.

Additional background information:
I was born in Alabama but moved to Michigan when I was about three years old and have lived here since. I attended Oakland University for my undergraduate degree in Communication and quickly began working for Ross Roy Communications on the Dodge Truck advertising account. I moved up in the company during all of its name changes until I left (and is now called BBDO Detroit) in 2002. I then explored my graduate degree in Communication, with an emphasis on diversity and intercultural issues. I was lucky enough to gain work as an English as a Second Language Instructor and as a global business advisor with a local company. They specialize in language and cultural training and translation. I have spoken on topices including but not limited to: Culture and Death/Dying, Team Building, Motivational Speaking, International Business Basics, How small businesses can benefit from Globalization, Technology and Global Business, and Networking, and more. I would be interested in speaking to your organization or group.

In 2006, I changed companies and began working for Iterotext Translation Services as their Director of Marketing and Sales. In 2007, I was asked to chair the Marketing SubCommittee as well as participate in the International Business Center’s Advisory Council at Automation Alley. I am a member of the Reception Committee at the Detroit Economic Club and I am very involved in the Marketing and Sales Executives of Detroit (MSED) and just joined the International Visitors Council of Detroit. I also belong to several networking communities including LinkedIn and MotorCity Connect. I believe in the power of business relationships and helping each other grow. How can I help you?
